Day 133 - Do shoulder lifts: 12 x 3

Well it's been a fight from the start today due to the wonder drug the doc gave me to open my airways.  All I can say is if you never need to take prednisone you are very, very lucky.  One dose of that stuff and I become a raving food addict.  You are ravenous all the time and can't seem to get enough.  I have had to fight all day just to stay on top of it but I managed.  I added a little extra at breakfast in order to help me through till lunch.  Tina I tried your suggestion of eating smaller meals and I actually think it helped me today.  At least when I got that starving feeling I knew there would be a little something coming in a little while.

Breakfast
1 pkg instant oatmeal
1/2 cup 1% milk
100 gr yogurt
1/2 banana

Snack
1 pkg Thinsations yogurt covered pretzels

Lunch
Shrimp Wonton Soup (120 calories), I found these at Costco and they are really delicious
1 cup grapefruit sections

Snack
Baby Bell Cheese

Dinner
veggie stir fry with chicken in stir fry sauce, I made lots and lots of veggies with just a little chicken and enough sauce just to flavor

I knew I would have to make lots of veggies if I was to stay sane so I make a whole pot full of veggies and added 4 ounces of chicken breast and about 2 tablespoons of stir fry sauce and this was plenty for both hubby and I.

I added the oatmeal at breakfast because I felt I was too hungry at lunch time and it seemed to help this morning.  Mind you till I finish this drug I won't know what is working and what isn't.

I went through my list of blogs this morning and deleted any that had not posted in the past month.  People start something and then for whatever reason they stop.  I figured if you haven't posted in two weeks it's not likely you will be back.  I can't support anyone if they do not want to put forth the effort themselves.  I have some wonderful sites that I am following and getting some good ideas and inspiration from them.  If I can ever figure out how to add the links to my page then you will know which ones they are.

  1. Am I the only person on prednisone that doesn't crave food? LOL I have Lupus is why I take it [and not that often] but I don't feel like I am any hungrier. Then again I am weird anyway, right? heehee.

    I love the idea of the small meals too! I do this all the time more because ever since being diagnosed I seem to have lost a lot of my appetite and can't eat a full meal in a sitting - but I know I have to get the food in me.

    I have to tell you that you, Megan and Tina really inspire me to eat healthy. I love fruits and veggies but I was always "Oh I'll get my five servings tomorrow" and after reading you guys I realize I had best plan my day out, everyday, and make sure I get them. I make my kids do it, so why not me? [I was actually in bed planning the fruits and veggies for the day before I came downstairs. Really!]

    Only one more day of prednisone- Hang in there! I know you can do it and hopefully you will be feeling better soon.

  2. Great! I'm glad you are trying the smaller meals, hopefully you will be off the medicine soon and see what really works for you.

    Aww SkippyMom, that's so nice of you to say :) I still don't make the helathiest choices, but I am trying. I have a really hard time getting in my fruits and veggies too... V8 Fusion is good for that, but it's not a low calorie drink :(

    I saw this today and thought of you Tessa becuase I think you mentioned diet pop before... I haven't seen it posted on your meals so maybe you don't drink it anymore :) I thought this was very interesting though, its about chemicals that make us fat! lol- the Tuna suprised me. I love Tuna, but I don't know about paying 3 times more for the pouch!

    I'm not sure how to add links to your page... but you could always copy and paste them (the same way you could copy and paste these video links to your browser)
    highlight the address, right click the mouse and select COPY. then put the curser where ever you want to put the address, and right click again and select PASTE. Viola!
