Ponderings of an old woman ............

If the world were flat could I walk to the edge and fall off?  If this were 2012 would the world come to an end?  If I stopped stuffing my face would I lose weight?

All questions that go through my mind on a daily basis ........well the first two not so much, I just threw them in to throw you off track.  Of course, the answer to the 3rd one is more than obvious so why can't I just do it?  Oops, that's question #4.

My world revolves around food, no matter how hard I try not to think about it, it occupies my mind every waking moment of the day.  I start off really good with a decent breakfast, lunch is usually pretty reasonable but then comes dinner and I lose total control.  Thinking maybe I should go get my teeth wired together so that nothing can go in my mouth that can't fit through a straw.  Probably not such a good idea........hmmmm, gonna think on  this for a bit.  Any suggestions would be certainly appreciated.

Well my girlfriend of 20 years stood me up tonight, and for some reason I knew she would.  We were supposed to go to the show and have a catch up evening as she has just moved here and we've been living in different cities since 1996.  How did I know?  Well she has an extremely jealous and untrusting husband who probably thought she was sneaking off to meet some guy even though I had spoke to her in WalMart on Sunday and we discussed the movie right in front of him.  I really have no use for him but I tolerate him because she is my friend and I love her dearly.

It seems as if summer is slowly turning into fall as I see some of the tree leaves are turning color.  We haven't even had much of a summer and now it's leaving.  I'm going to hurry and finish this post as the clouds are building and they have storm warnings again for this evening.

You may have had a gain, but I'm glad to see you have your sense of humor. That along with not giving up, are very important :)
I wish I had a good suggestion, but I do the same thing... over eat with family, eat to much at dinner a lot of times.
One thing I can think of is to write what you eat NO MATTER WHAT. It doesn't always work, (as you can tell by what I write) but it does a LOT of the time. When I go back for that second plate, I just know I will have to write it down, and sometimes that is enough to stop me.

    Sorry about your friend :(
She is lucky to have a good freind like you to stand my her, and not let her jerk husband ruin that.

  2. Sorry your friend was a no-show. Maybe she will reschedule and can actually get there to meet you.

This journey to a healthy life is so filled with potholes and barriers. Just keep your goal in mind. I agree with Tina, write you food down no matter what and review the list at the end of the day. It may help you make a better choice the next day.

  3. Sorry about your friend. That is tough and her husband sounds like a poopy head. Hope you all can get together soon.

Stay with it - you have been doing it and you can continue. I know it! Even baby steps are better than no steps at all, right?

    Hugs sweetie!
